351)  After Tubal Reversal
A heartfelt message to Dr. Berger from a patient who is now waiting for delivery of her second baby after her tubal reversal.

352) Increased Risk of Ectopic Pregnancy After Tubal Reversal
The risk of ectopic pregnancy is increased after tubal ligation and tubal reversal. The risk appears to be higher for women who have had the most destructive types of tubal ligation and have the shortest fallopian tube segments remaining to repair.

353) Can My Tubal Be Reversed?
Tubal ligation and resection (removal) of a portion of the fallopian tube is the most frequent method of blocking the tubes. Two out of three women who have had this procedure will become pregnant after reversal surgery with Dr. Berger. It is helpful to have a copy of the operative and pathology reports sent to Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center for Dr. Berger to review.

354) Weekly Pregnancy Report
Fifteen new pregnancies were reported by Dr. Berger's reversal patients during the week of June 3, 2006. Five patients became pregnant with tubal lengths of 4cm or less.

355) Screening Laparoscopy Option
Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center offers the option of screening laparoscopy to any patient wanting more of an assurance regarding outcome of the reversal surgery. Patients are required to have a body mass index of less than 30 for the laparoscopy procedure, which is performed just prior to the reversal.

When testing very early for pregnancy, the miscarriage rate may appear higher than normal. The risk of miscarriage after tubal reversal is not higher than among the general population except for women with very short fallopian tubes (2.5 cm or less) after tubal ligation and subsequent tubal reversal.
