226) Everything You Need to Know About Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center's Screening Laparoscopy Package
The screening laparoscopy procedure is performed while you are under anesthesia and just prior to the reversal. That way you do not have to undergo anesthesia and surgery twice. Dr. Berger will examine your fallopian tubes with the laparoscope and, if sufficient tubal lengths remain, go directly to tubal repair. You will discuss your wishes regarding all of this with Dr. Berger during your initial consultation so that he will be familiar with how you might want to proceed before beginning the operation. There is an additional charge of $1000 to add the screening laparoscopy, but with this option you will receive close to 50% of the total surgery fee in refund should tubal repair not be possible. If there is enough tube remaining to complete the repair, Dr. Berger will perform your tubal reversal while you are under anesthesia. He always repairs both tubes if possible. If only one is possible he will repair one as it is possible to conceive with only one tube.
