51) Military Wives Discuss Tubal Ligation Reversal
Military wives choose to have their tubal reversals at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center rather than in a military facility. There is no military doctor with the experience or results Dr. Berger has, nor does Tri Care does not cover elective surgery. The Tubal Reversal Message Board offers an opportunity for military wives to stay in touch with each other before, during, and after their tubal reversal procedures.
52) Pregnant With a Single Fallopian Tube 1 cm in Length After Tubal Reversal
This week's pregnancy report Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center offers encouragement to patients with short tubes and just one fallopian tube after a tubal reversal procedure. Pregnancies were reported by patients with tube lengths as short as 1 cm and 2 cm.
53) Tubal Reversal Patients Discuss How Early They Can Detect Pregnancy
Tubal Reversal Message Board members discuss how soon after ovulation they have been able to detect a positive pregnancy test. 10 days after ovulation (or 4 days before the next expected menstrual period) is the soonest that a pregnancy test is likely to be positive. Most tubal reversal patients, however, wait until the expected period is missed before performing a home pregnancy.
54) Are Records Required For Tubal Reversal Surgery?
Sometimes women have trouble locating records of their tubal ligation, especially if many years have passed since the surgery. At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center we do not have to have the records from the tubal ligation to perform your tubal reversal. Dr. Berger can proceed without the information. A second option is to have Dr. Berger begin with a screening laparoscopy to assess the tubes. In cases where the amount of tube remaining is questionable, Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center offers a Laparoscopy Package to patients with a body mass index of less than 30. Dr. Berger has successfully performed reversal surgery on patients with all types of sterilization techniques. In 98% of cases the tubes are able to be repaired, so there is definitely reason to be optimistic.

59) Fallopian Tube Length After A Tubal Ligation Procedure
The average fallopian tube is 10cm - 11cm in length prior to the sterilization procedure. Typically, around 0.5cm to 3cm is removed during a tubal ligation. Depending on the amount of tube removed, the tubes may be 4cm - 8cm in length after Dr. Berger performs the tubal reversal procedure. Based on the extensive follow-p study conducted by Dr. Berger at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, two out of three women with the ligation and resection procedure (tubal ligation) will become pregnant after reversal surgery with Dr. Berger. With more than 30 years of experience performing tubal reversal surgery, Dr. Berger is able to repair the tubes in 98% of cases and has had patients report pregnancies with tubes as short as 1.5cm.
60) How Do I Know If I Am A Candidate For Tubal Reversal Surgery
Dr. Gary Berger is able to repair the fallopian tubes in 98% of cases, so almost everyone is a "candidate" for tubal reversal surgery. This success is based on more than 30 years of experience, which means that Dr. Berger is able to repair the tubes even in difficult situation where another doctor could not (or would not) attempt the surgery. Pregnancy rates are higher when tubes are longer following the reversal, but pregnancies have been reported with tubes as short as 1.5 centimeters at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.

Members of the message board of The Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center answer the question with a resounding "No". Prospective patients of Dr. Gary Berger share their concerns about reversing their tubal ligations performed up to twenty years ago. Many patients share that the health of the repaired fallopian tubes and not the age of the ligation is a deciding factor for future pregnancies.
